Our café in Taradale has always been a place that people can visit to relax and enjoy a great meal, amazing coffee and wonderful company in a warm and friendly environment. Whether you like the fun and frenetic vibe or just want to find a quiet corner to watch the world go by we have a place for you.
We have been blessed over the years to have been able to work alongside wonderful staff who have all brought their individual skills and talents to our café and whose care, compassion, smiles and friendliness have brought us a horde of regulars who are as passionate about our business as we are.
The success of our business is measured by our ability to return to the community that supports us. Over the years we have had ongoing sponsorships and relationships with local sports teams, schools, kindergartens and charities and regularly hold our “Coffee with Karma” days where we donate a portion of our sales to charities that are important to our staff or have had an impact on our lives.
Business owner, Julian (Jules) Pyne, has worked in the hospitality industry for over 25 years. Trained as a chef he has worked in predominantly in Sydney with some time in Scandinavia. Over his many years in the industry he has be associated with over 40 different venues, from fine dining restaurants and cafes to tapas bars, conference catering and a surprising number of pizza restaurants. He has worked as a waiter, a barista, a chef, been the head chef at a number of venues, managed almost a dozen different venues and successfully provided consultancy for a dozen more. Most importantly he loves good coffee.
Our Menu
Our menu has always evolved to offer our guests a variety of foods and we cater to a diverse range of preferences including an extensive range of gluten free products both on our menu and in our cabinet. We always try to source our products locally when possible to take advantage of our amazing Hawke’s Bay produce.

We are a member of the Again Again Cup lending system that eliminates single-use waste.
